Commercial Landscaping Projects from Landscape Workshop: Colonial Bank Headquarters, Montgomery, Alabama
Seven acres, graced with myriad trees and shrubs, a pristine courtyard, and dramatic lake fountain – this headquarters is truly a gem.
Challenges/Opportunities
1. Scheduling. Installing 7 acres of turf and some 51,000 trees and shrubs made scheduling and implementation critical to the overall success of this project.
2. Water. In order to serve some 65 irrigation zones, we installed one of our largest wells to date.
3. Scale. Landscaping played a key role in visually reducing the scale of these large structures, as well as helping to anchor them into their surroundings.
4. Water feature. A massive centerpiece, this substantial lake fountain was installed by the Landscape Workshop team.
5. Courtyard access. Grass pavers were installed along the edge of the courtyard to allow vehicular access.
6. Logistics. Coordinating a job of this magnitude from our Birmingham office required advanced planning to ensure timely completion of the project.
