Ten Points of Differentiation
1. Vehicles - We were the first to operate with a fleet of self-contained landscaping vehicles. Landscape Workshop box trucks with our green “hands” logo were ubiquitous when other landscaping companies were still running around in a pick-up trucks with open trailers. When we show up on site, we are fully equipped for any challenges the job might present, saving our clients time and money. 2. Variety - We pioneered the creative use of different perennials, annuals, and herbs – a variety from the four corners of the nation – tailoring our choice so that the natural defenses of the flora being used mitigate the need for pesticides. 3. Pest control - We were one of the first to implement perimeter pest control, creating an insect shield around the properties we landscape to protect the investments of our clients and to reduce the number of insects entering structures on the properties. 4. Water use - We choose plantings that are less water-dependent. Consequently, our clients are less hindered by water restrictions. 5. Recycling - We were thinking environmentally before thinking environmentally was cool: we recycle our clipping materials. 6. Fertilizers - We use our own custom fertilizers that last longer, use less fuel to produce, and decrease the amount of maintenance required and the amount of waste produced. 7. Pesticides - We minimize the use of chemical pesticides on shrubs and trees by carefully choosing the right plants, using natural pesticides, drenches, and avoiding fungi and pests associated with mass plantings. 8. Customization - We have created a customized agronomic chemical program, allowing us to use only the necessary pesticides for each specific landscape. 9. Fuel - We mix bio-fuels with diesel to run our fleets. 10. Treatment - We use non-petroleum-based chemicals and safer soaps.
